The creator of this montage style is David Hockney, one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Using a varying numbers of photos Hockney would arrange a patchwork to make a composite image.
The result, is a photgraphic image created over a period of time (unlike an ordinary photos which represents merely split-second.) Therefore, his work gives the viewer a greater insight into how human vision works (using photography as the medium.)
